AMES, IA — The Iowa State University Cyclones men’s rugby team captured their fourth straight Heart of America Rugby Conference championship with a decisive 34-19 victory over the University of Iowa in the conference final.

The Cyclones showcased dominance throughout the season, posting impressive wins over top regional programs:

  • Heart of America Semifinal: Iowa State 59-12 vs. University of Oklahoma
  • Iowa State 71-12 vs. University of Minnesota
  • Iowa State 95-15 vs. University of Nebraska
  • Iowa State 69-0 vs. University of Missouri
  • Iowa State 36-22 vs. Wayne State College

Despite a narrow 22-24 loss to the University of Iowa earlier in the season, the Cyclones rebounded in the championship match to reaffirm their position as the premier team in the Heart of America Conference.

With this victory, Iowa State continues its legacy of excellence and looks ahead to national postseason play.
